RECORD GRADING
All records are visually graded unless otherwise stated.
Please keep in mind that a number of factors that may not be visible during grading can affect the sound and playback of a record. These can include pressing defects, vinyl quality, recording techniques, mastering, dust and other factors.
Because of this, it is possible for a record to occasionally not play to the standard expected from its visual grade.
We do our best to grade every record fairly, carefully and accurately. If you are ever unhappy with your purchase, please reach out to us so we can work with you to find a solution.
GRADING SCALE
SEALED
Jacket is sealed shut in shrink wrap. The record itself has not been inspected and is therefore sold ungraded/as-is.
NM – Near Mint
Appears unplayed and shows no obvious marks, sleeve scuffs or scratches.
VG+ – Very Good Plus
A few visible imperfections may be present, including sleeve scuffs, light scratches or other superficial marks.
VG – Very Good
Similar imperfections to a VG+ record, but present in slightly greater numbers. Records graded VG and above will typically not have scratches deep enough to be felt with a fingernail.
VG- – Very Good Minus
A number of visible imperfections. A considerable number of light scratches may result in a VG- grade, as may significant isolated defects such as scratches deep enough to be felt with a fingernail.
G+ / G / G- – Good Range
Pervasive imperfections of varying degrees, including light scratches and scratches that may be deep enough to be felt with a fingernail.
G+ and G- are used to indicate stronger or weaker copies within the Good grading range.
