Antique, likely late 19th century to Early 20th C. Apothecary Jar   The Italian glazed pottery jar has   the hand painted  words VETUS + PIN +  and flowers . It as applied handles that depict a bust.  The meaning of VETUS PIN refers to aged PINE TAR- historically used  as an ingredient for treatment of skin conditions, coughs and joint pain.  This pottery jar is Gorgeous  and displays well and is sound  however, there  are  edge chips (some older than others), hairline cracks , glaze loss and factory flaws. 

 It stands at approx. 8 1/2" tall by 6" wide. It weighs approx. 1 lb 6 oz.
