This photo postcard was sent from Joseph Murphy to C.L. (Chester Landis) Detwiler in Breckenridge, Colorado. The stamped date 1907 appears on the back of the card.
The photo shows what appears to be a boarding house (left) and a Queen Ann building with a sign over the entrance that reads T.J. MURPHY. The storefront features a display of clothing. Handwriting on the front of the card reads, "Ches: Can you beat it in Breckenridge? Joe."
According to my research, Detwiler was an early resident of Breckenridge and a member of the prominent Detwiler pioneer family. I wasn't able to determine where Joseph (T.J.) Murphy was located.
Measures 5 1/2" x 3 7/16". Nice condition with some discoloration/stains and wear along the corners and edges.
