This beautiful Native Jeweler COIN Silver (.900) -on the Side Settings and the Naja only- & Genuine CARICO LAKE Turquoise Squash Blossom Necklace measures 26" long, NOT including the Pendant!
The Pendant is approximately 3 1/4" long and 3 1/2" wide.
The Side Settings measure each 1 1/2" long and 1" wide.
It is strung on Nickel Silver Beads.
It has 16 genuine CARICO LAKE Turquoise Nuggets (5 on each Side) and 6 on the Pendant.
The Squash Blossom Necklace is handcrafted.
The Necklace weighs over 202 grams!
CARICO LAKE Turquoise:
The Carico Lake mine is in Lander County, Nevada. The name comes from its location a few miles west of the dried up Carico Lake bed. Carico Lake Turquoise has been around for a long time and was once one of the mines that produced a large amount of the Turquoise for the Native American Indian Jewelry and Southwest Silver Jewelry businesses during the big Turquoise boom of the 1950s through the 1980s in America.

Item Details: Genuine CARICO LAKE Turquoise Nuggets, Nickel Silver & COIN (.900) Silver
LEGEND:
- Sterling Silver: .925 silver
- Nickel Silver: This used to be named German silver, and silversmiths have used it for the last century for making jewelry. It contains no actual silver and many buyers prefer it over sterling because it does not tarnish and has a shinier look.
- Genuine Turquoise: Real turquoise stone, although it may be stabilized to protect it.
- Block Turquoise: Again, this has been used by artisans for decades. It is created in a laboratory and sold to silversmiths by jewelry supply stores in large blocks, hence, the name, block turquoise. Other stones that are made in blocks will be described as such.
- Pawn Jewelry: Jewelry that has been pawned by the owner to a pawn shop, usually in New Mexico. OLD Pawn is jewelry that is vintage or older and was pawned, then acquired by someone else from the pawn
- COIN (.900) Silver: .900 Silver is the same quality used in production of vintage/old coins (but not old as in age). This silver consists of 90% pure silver.
