This very nice N gauge train pack by Kato is 10-091 a six car TGV Sud-Est set in the iconic orange and grey SNCF colours the service was launched with.

The SNCF TGV Sud-Est was a French high speed TGV train built by Alstom and Francorail-MTE and operated by SNCF, the French national railway company. A total of 111 trainsets were built between 1978 and 1988 for the first TGV service in France between Paris and Lyon which opened in 1981. The trainsets were semi-permanently coupled, consisting of two power cars (locomotives) and eight articulated passenger carriages, ten in the case of the tri-voltage sets. The trains were named after the Ligne à Grande Vitesse Sud-Est that they first operated on. They were also referred to as TGV-PSE, an abbreviation of Paris Sud-Est.

In December 2019, all TGV Sud-Est sets were retired from service. In early 2020, a farewell service was run using the first production TGV set built. One complete set remains so this set could be used on a modern layout as well as a period one, but this is really just a beautiful set.

The set is in good condition as you can see in the pictures, it is fully tested and runs well with working headlights. The set includes one powered locomotive (M1) 14701, one dummy locomotive (M2) 14701, three passenger carriages (R1) 14703, (R5) 14706, (R8) 14707 and one bar (R4) 14705. Both locomotives and all coaches have metal wheels which run in pinpoint bearings. (M1, M2) have head/tail lights depending on the direction of travel.

It comes complete with its box. The box is in good if slightly shelf worn condition.

Overall this is a really nice scale train pack and would look fantastic on a layout.

Do please have a look at our other listings, we typically have various HO and OO locos on offer as well as an extensive range of imported N gauge locos and other items.

Note: We do recommend all locos are cleaned & serviced, as they have some age to them even if the quality looks at the highest level (fairly standard advice for all locos!).
