POLISTIL LANCIA DELTA S4 RALLY 1985/6 MARTINI #3 VINTAGE DIECAST S2305 BOXED

Rare 1980s Polistil model of a Lancia Delta S4 rally car, race number 3, in Lancia Martini Racing livery from the 1985/6 WRC.

Superb condition in white with the iconic red and 2-tone blue Martini race livery and sponsorship logos. The detailed black plastic base also forms the front and rear bumpers and front grille. Clear glazed headlights, windscreen, side windows and rear screen, opening doors with detailed black interior and 3-spoke steering wheel. The model rolls on chrome, 5-spoke alloy wheels with 3-eared hub nuts and plastic tyres.

The model comes with its unique plastic and card window box. The model is attached to a black plastic plinth with clips at the ends. A card window box ‘lid’ fits on top.

The Lancia Delta S4 (also known by its Abarth project code SE038) is a Group B rally car manufactured by Lancia. The Delta S4 competed in the World Rally Championship in 1985 and 1986, until Group B class was disbanded and the cars were eventually banned from competition by the FIA. The car replaced, and was an evolution of, the 037. The S4 took full advantage of the Group B regulations, and featured a midship-mounted engine and all-wheel drive for superior traction on loose surfaces.
