Up for auction is an authentic prehistoric St. Johns Polychrome pottery bowl dating to the Ancestral Puebloan (Anasazi) period, approximately 1150–1300 CE. This piece features a classic vibrant red-slipped interior adorned with bold black mineral paint geometric scrolls. The exterior rim is decorated with a distinctive thick, chalky white slip applied in continuous geometric stepped-key patterns.

This piece has been a part of my private collection for 40 years. It was legally acquired from an antique shop back in the 1980s. It is guaranteed to be old and authentic
