Kevin Sanchez—known throughout the graffiti community as CHERO—is a Denver, Colorado artist whose roots trace back to tagging real freight trains in his youth. Growing up near local yards, he and his friends spent countless nights studying railcars as moving canvases, developing the bold lettering and expressive character work that would become his trademark. As he got older, Kevin stepped away from illegal tagging and transformed his raw talent into a refined, disciplined graffiti style that honors the culture while moving it forward.
Today, Kevin channels that same energy into hand-painted custom model trains, treating each locomotive and railcar as a miniature work of urban art. He works across all scales, using professional graffiti techniques, detailed layering, and subtle weathering to create one-of-a-kind pieces collected by railfans, modelers, and graffiti enthusiasts alike. You can see more of his work @kevinsanchez_24, where he continues to share his evolving artistry and the stories behind each custom-painted model. Each piece you see here is unique, authentic, and created by a true Denver rail-culture artist.
