  • Circa 1935 Works Progress Administration (WPA) ID Badge/Button/Pin/Pinback.
  • Measures approximately 3 7/8" x 1 7/8".
  • This ID Pinback was for workers enlisted into New York State District 3 (New York City).  Here is some historical information I was able to find on this District:
Based on Work Projects Administration project records, the WPA New York District 3 engaged in major infrastructure developments in the New York City harbor area, specifically focusing on substantial improvements and construction at Fort Jay on Governors Island. 

District 3 Location: Governors Island, New York Harbor, NY.

Projects: The WPA in this area conducted projects to improve buildings and grounds, including constructing military barracks, NCO quarters, roads, sidewalks, utilities, and a theater.
