Northwood Glass started producing the Acorn Burr pattern in opalescent first then Carnival Glass.  This Covered Butter Dish is a stunning piece of vintage American glassware. With its round shape and deep amethyst color, it features a decorative acorn burr pattern that adds a touch of Edwardian style to any table setting. The butter dish is made from high-quality glass and has a glossy finish. It is an original piece with an impressed Northwood  backstamp. The item length, height, and diameter can be seen in the pictures, making it easy to get an idea of its size.  I found no damage other than normal ware---both have wonderful rainbow hues with the greens and blues dominating.
