Listed here is a USED Mercury Shift Shaft Coupler and Spacer.  These are all Genuine OEM Mercury parts NOT cheap Chinese aftermarket replacements.  The part number for the coupling is 438585.  The shift shaft spacer part # is 23-813745.  Note there are different size spacers for different shaft lengths please note measurements.  These are the parts that connect the shift shaft in the mid section to the shift shaft on the lower unit gear case.  They were used on many engine sizes and configurations from the 1990s well into the 2000s.  These parts in particular came from a 2002 90 horsepower two stroke 90ELPTO engine that lived its entire life on a freshwater Orlando lake and has never seen salt water.  I also had one a while back that fit on a 2006 90 horse power Optimax so it is compatible with that as well.  Parts have minor scuffing, wear, pitting, staining, etc. consistent with parts of their age.  Both are fully functional.  They are in overall excellent shape in my opinion.  The parts you see pictured are the actual parts you will receive with nothing extra.   Both are stored in a climate controlled parts room to prevent deterioration.  If you have any questions or need help with compatibility please feel free to contact me and I will help you to the best of my abilities.  Thank you for your interest.  Steve MMSLLC :)
