Made in the United States during the 1920s - 1930s, this snare drum boasts a classic brass shell design that is both durable and resonant. I have owned this snare for over 30 years. The finish is black lacquer and original per a few vintage collectors. The hardware is nickel finish. A couple of the hoop clips are chrome and not original to the snare. The snare wires are original. The bottom head is calf skin. The top head is a 60s Ludwig. There is one area of the black finish that has been removed by the person I bought the drum from. He wanted to insure the shell was brass. Oh, he was a guitar player and not a drummer.

I have done nothing to the drum since owning this gem.
