Animal Kingdom – Season 1

After his mother dies from a heroin overdose, 17-year-old Joshua "J" Cody moves in with his estranged relatives in Southern California. He is taken in by his charismatic but manipulative grandmother, Janine "Smurf" Cody, and soon discovers that the family's luxurious lifestyle is funded by armed robberies and other criminal activities.

As J becomes involved with his uncles and their dangerous world, he must learn whom he can trust and decide whether to embrace the family's criminal empire or find a way to escape it. Filled with crime, family drama, and suspense, Animal Kingdom explores loyalty, power, and survival within a dysfunctional crime family.
