This box was designed in Mstera, a historic village in Russia’s Vladimir region known for its distinctive lacquer‑miniature school that emerged from local icon‑painting workshops. Mstera artists favor soft pastel tones, airy landscapes, and flowing compositions, often framing folklore and literary themes with graceful floral borders on papier‑mâché boxes.
