Note: Not all yoga mats are the same. A high-quality TPE yoga mat is denser and slightly heavier than cheaper alternatives, even though it may appear thinner. This higher density improves durability, stability, and long-term performance. Spending a little more on a quality mat means you will have a dependable workout surface for years.
There are three common types of exercise mats: PVC, NBR, and TPE. Each has different advantages depending on your workout style.
PVC Mats
PVC yoga mats are the most widely available and typically the least expensive. They are durable, lightweight, and provide a sticky surface that helps prevent slipping. However, PVC is not considered environmentally friendly compared to newer materials.
NBR Mats
NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) mats are usually thicker and provide extra cushioning, making them comfortable for floor exercises or workouts on hard surfaces. Because of their thickness, they may feel slightly less stable during standing yoga poses.
TPE Mats
TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) is a newer, more environmentally friendly material that is recyclable and durable. Closed-cell TPE mats resist moisture and are easy to clean. They offer excellent grip and stability while remaining lightweight and portable.
Our 6mm TPE yoga mats are textured for a secure non-slip grip and provide a great balance of cushioning, stability, and durability. They are an excellent choice for yoga, Pilates, stretching routines, and general fitness workouts.
