A whimsical pair of cast iron andirons attributed to Swedish designer Eskil Björklund and believed to have been produced by Hälleforsnäs Bruk during the 1960s. Crafted in solid cast iron, the figures depict two expressive devils, one holding a trident, rendered in a playful yet distinctly sculptural style. Their bold silhouettes combine functionality with artistic charm, reflecting the imaginative spirit of Scandinavian mid-century design.
They are 45 cm long, 23 cm wide and the one holding the trident is 35 cm tall. The trident is removable. They are in over all very good condition, they have been used so they show some slightly wear of use and nice patina.
Equally striking as functional fireplace accessories or displayed as sculptural objects, these rare andirons embody the enduring appeal of Swedish ironworking traditions and make a distinctive addition to any collection of Scandinavian decorative arts or modernist interiors.
