First edition, 1893, of An Historical Sketch of Bookbinding, by S. T. Prideaux.
Book is in very good condition, commensurate with age. Light olive green bookcloth with gilt decoration and titling over boards. Clean throughout: no foxing, inscriptions, grubby fingerprints, or anything of that ilk. Boards, spine, and text-block, all solid, tight, and square. Hinges, free of cracks. Minimal, if any, shelf-wear and corner-bumping.
Some fraying to the top and bottom of the spine, and a chip from the bottom. Several faint library stamps, but no other library bits and bobs such as ticket pocket or return date sheets.
All the photographs above are of the actual book for sale - no stock images - so please take a good look as they form the most important part of the description.
