Industrial water treatment facilities cover a multitude of activities as part of the purification process before water can be returned to rivers and municipal drainage systems after use in manufacturing processes. Sometimes used water is recycled for local reuse but further processes must take place to eliminate possible health risks.
One main process is water settlement and sludge separation. Dependant on waste-water volumes being processed the tanks used vary in size and quantity. The soiled water is first pumped into the settlement tanks where the separation takes place with the sludge falling to the bottom, the sludge slurry then being pumped through to the storage tanks where it solidifies with further water being removed and awaiting further treatment. Although these tanks are connected to other processes via large pipework, this interconnecting pipework is often run out of sight especially if these open-top concrete tanks are partially set below ground.

We have selected tank sizes that would be seen either singularly or doubled, suitable for N-Gauge 1:148 to 1:160 scale size modelling. These tanks are the smaller size reinforced concrete variety that stand above ground. The settlement tank is a larger diameter than the sludge tank. Pumps and pipework to transfer sludge and water between the two tanks is included. We have also included a Screw Conveyor to transfer the sludge terminating at the Drive-motor end ready to feed the next process either vertical up and turning into a building wall or horizontally turning down into a bunker below ground. If required interlinking pipework to other processes can be achieved using our industrial Pipework & Fittings kits and in particularly Pumps Selection, both kits being available separately.

We produce more than 420 different models for N Gauge of which more than 100 are available handpainted and finished. For full details please browse our ebay shop. You can access this by clicking on the appropriate Category link which can be found on the left hand side of this listing.
