1d Downey in Scarlet (trial h) on John Allen Special Finish Paper Gummed U/M

The Paper Trials were printed by Seymour Bennett Head of the Stamping Department in December 1911 during the production of the die 2 stamps (plates 6a and 8a were used).These Trials were printed on no watermark paper and imperf. Gum Crease. Cat 700+ pounds as mounted mint

We use UK condition abbreviations.

U/M (un-mounted mint) is Mint Never Hinged or Never Hinged Mint.
M/M (mounted mint) is Hinged Mint.
