1952 Topps #102 Bill Kennedy G+ Chicago White Sox Pitcher. Kennedy was born March 14, 1921 in Carnesville, Georgia. He made his Major League debut on April 26, 1948 with the Cleveland Indians. After just 6 outings, the Indians traded him to the St. Louis Browns where he pitched through the 1951 Season. In March of 1952, his contract was purchased by the Chicago White Sox. Although he had a successful season in Chicago, he was traded to the Boston Red Sox. Struggling at the beginning of the 1953 season, he was demoted to the Minors where he pitched for the next two seasons. He returned to the Majors in 1956 with the Cincinnati Redlegs. He made his final "Big League" appearance on September 29, 1957 with Cincinnati. He continued to pitch another 3 seasons in the Pacific Coast League before retiring at age 39. This card fits into a lower to mid-grade set. There is a prominent diagonal crease on the left side. There is a stain in the lower right corner. The card has has DECENT GLOSS and CLEAN BACK.
