Not Working, Sold for Parts or Repair

This is a 3.5" disk drive from Apple for their Apple IIc and IIGS computers. It uses 3.5" disks and has model number A9M0106. This drive does not work and is sold for parts or repair (details below). As a result, it is sold AS-IS and there are NO RETURNS and NO REFUNDS. Please keep this in mind before bidding.

This disk drive does not work. After inserting a disk into the drive, we turned the computer on. The drive starts and it sounds like the read/write head moves to track 0. Within 1 second, the drive ejects the disk.  So we have concluded this drive is defective. It is being sold for parts or repair.

Note that the disk eject mechanism seems to work just fine. But the drive is automatically ejecting the disk rather than reading it.

The cosmetic condition of this drive is good. The case has some discoloration due to its age. It also has some minor wear and a few blemishes. One of the rubber feet on the bottom is missing. Please see the photos for the cosmetic condition of this item.

This drive uses 3.5", Double Sided, Double Density disks.

This item includes only the drive and its attached cable. It does not include a computer, drive controller card, disks, or any other accessories.
