Mark Tremonti is one of the leading guitarists in the rock world. Having achieved massive success as the guitarist for Creed and Alter Bridge, he remains active today as both a guitarist and a songwriter. His relationship with PRS began during the tour following the release of Creed's debut album, *My Own Prison*, when he was approached about trying out PRS guitars.
"When I got the offer from PRS, I was absolutely thrilled. It was a brand I had wanted so badly back in high school and college but couldn't afford to buy."
PRS sent Mark a McCarty model, which he immediately loved; for a time, he played exclusively on the McCarty. However, he eventually felt the need for a guitar that better matched his specific playing style, marking the starting point for the development of the Mark Tremonti model. His requirements included pickups with more power for rhythm playing—specifically for palm-muted passages—and a neck profile suited to his style, which draws influences from thrash metal, shred, and traditional blues. The result was the Mark Tremonti Signature, featuring the "Pattern Thin" neck profile.
