Vintage Art Deco Firescreen - Wooden Double Scenic Picture Panel Screen - Retro
Description
A vintage Art Deco firescreen with a wooden frame and two decorative scenic panels. A striking piece for use beside a hearth, in a period interior, or as a decorative accent in a hallway, living room or snug.
The frame appears to be veneered hardwood, with stepped geometric detailing and shaped feet typical of the Art Deco period. The scenic panels have a tropical landscape feel and appear to be printed or painted decoration behind glass. Likely c.1930s to early 1940s.
Unsure of the exact age, but more than happy to help with any further questions.
Condition
In well used vintage condition with surface scratches, scuffs, marks and age related wear to the finish. There are small knocks and wear to the edges and feet, along with darker marks and general cosmetic wear to the back and underside.
The scenic panels also show light age related wear and use. It remains a decorative and usable piece. Would benefit from a good clean and polish, or ideal for refinishing. There are some chips and sections of missing veneer to the feet as shown.
We have tried to capture all of these in the photos as best as possible, so please study these as a good indication of cosmetic condition.
