• Brand Identity: The metal relief label reads "Trailing Arbutus / Bacorn / Elmira, N.Y.".
• Aesthetic Style: It features a classic Art Nouveau design with a raised relief depicting a nude nymph bending over a flower.
• Bottle Construction: It is a clear glass, square-bodied, hand-blown bottle constructed using a "Blown-In-Mold" (BIM) technique with a tooled neck.
• Closure: It includes a custom ground-glass stopper matching the Art Nouveau geometry.

Historical Context

• Manufacturer: The Bacorn Company operated out of Elmira, New York, starting around 1909.
• Business Model: Similar to the California Perfume Company (the predecessor to Avon), Bacorn distributed its fragrances, cosmetics, and fruit extracts door-to-door via sales ladies and through mail order.
• The 1927 Fire: The company abruptly ceased operations in 1927 after a catastrophic fire destroyed the factory.
