• This specific style, known as Burmese glass, is highly collectible for its characteristic opaque shading that transitions from a soft yellow at the base to a delicate salmon pink at the ruffled rim.

Key Features of this Piece:

• Origin & Period: Produced by the British firm Thomas Webb & Sons, likely in the late 19th century (Victorian era, circa 1880s).
• Decoration: The hand-painted Raised floral design is attributed to the studio of Jules Barbe, a renowned French decorator who worked for Webb. It features flat enamels with raised paste details for texture.
• Material: Authentic Burmese glass contains small amounts of uranium, which causes it to glow bright green under a UV (blacklight).
• Finish: This example appears to have a satin (matte) finish, which was achieved by dipping the glass in acid after it was blown.
