BEAUTIFUL Authentic Antique Thompson River Salish Basket with Imbricated Geometric Design, Native American Art from the Nlaka'pamux First Nations people of interior southern British Columbia, Circa late 1800s to early 1900s

This is a large rectangular basket at approximately 14 inches long x 12 inches wide x 6 inches tall.

Color is a deep rich brown with the brighter red geometric design using wild cherry bark. There is some fading and unevenness of the color due to the basket's age. Appearance of color will vary based on background and lighting condition. We've taken photos under various conditions to show the full beauty of this basket.

Condition: The body of the basket is nicely preserved and does show some wear from use. There are several breaks in the rim, which may have been spaces for carrying loops originally. I am note certain of that, it may simply be that the ends of these raised rim sections has worn off or broken off.
