This is a rare antique postcard from Germany, postmarked September 4, 1904, and sent from Freiburg im Breisgau. The reverse side features a unique sepia-toned sketch, dated Gutach, September 17, 1904, depicting a landscape likely from the Black Forest region. The postcard bears a 5 Pfennig Deutsches Reich stamp and handwritten correspondence addressed to Prof. Reichendorf in Freiburg. A wonderful piece of early 20th-century German postal history and art.
