Striking Owen’s original vase. Fan shaped with a ruffled edge. It stands 6.5” tall, 8” Length, and 4.5” width. Glazed with the Owen’s signature Chinese Red glaze.

This vase was made by Boyd Owens at Original Owens Pottery in Seagrove, North Carolina. The Large Hand-Incised "H" is the artist signature for Boyd Owens. He frequently marks his wheel-thrown work with a stylized, elongated cursive letter "H" to honor his grandfather, James Henry Owen (who founded the historic pottery shop in 1895).

The hand-etched script clearly dates the creation of this piece to the year 2009.

The Circular Stamp: The stamped emblem reads "Original Owens Pottery Seagrove, N.C." arranged in a ring around a small central pine tree symbol. This confirms it was produced directly inside the family's historic workshop, which holds the distinction of being the oldest continuously operating pottery shop in North Carolina.

Excellent condition. There is a slight flaw of a couple small pieces of clay that stuck to the vase and was glazed over. See photos.
