Up for auction is a beautiful, large antique Vietnamese (Annamese) stoneware deep dish. Measuring nearly 12" in diameter, this piece features classic provincial export decoration painted in cobalt blue under an ash-ivory glaze. The center is adorned with a stylized calligraphic character surrounded by a prominent unglazed stack-firing ring. The inner walls are decorated with alternating cross-hatched panels and scrolling abstract leaf motifs. The underside features a heavy unglazed foot rim typical of 15th/16th-century Red River Delta production.

Condition report: Good antique condition considering its age of roughly 500 years! Features an authentic aged patina with typical minor kiln grit, firing imperfections, and pitting in the glaze. There is a small, tight hairline crack visible in the center well glaze over the character. No rim chips or modern restorations detected.
