Offered for sale is this beautiful signed limited edition etching by one of Britain's most celebrated contemporary artists, George Shaw. Iconic, evocative garages as part of his seminal Twelve Walks series. Nothing captures the Zeitgeist better than George Shaw. Of his time and place, but timeless and universal.

Twelve Short Walks (1) is hand signed by the artist in pencil and numbered 35/42, from an exceptionally small edition of just 42 impressions. The work is presented in its original bespoke gallery framing and comes complete with the original valuation certificate and provenance from Reuben Colley Fine Art.

George Shaw is one of the UK's most important contemporary artists, internationally recognised for his deeply evocative depictions of everyday suburban landscapes. A Turner Prize nominee whose work is held in major public collections including Tate, his prints and paintings have become highly sought after by collectors of contemporary British art. His work combines extraordinary technical skill with themes of memory, place and nostalgia, making it instantly recognisable and enduringly collectable.

This example has remained in storage since purchase and has never been displayed. It has only been removed from its original protective packaging once, solely to photograph it for this listing. As a result, both the artwork and its presentation remain in outstanding condition.
The framing deserves particular mention. It was professionally commissioned by the supplying gallery and is of exceptional quality, complementing the work perfectly. This is a genuine gallery-quality presentation, ready to hang.

I own several works by George Shaw and have always admired his work. This particular piece was purchased for the house I was building at the time, but in the end it never quite found the right place within the finished home. Rather than keeping it in storage indefinitely, I would much rather see it go to a collector or someone who will genuinely enjoy living with it.

Please study the photographs carefully as they form part of the description.

Delivery / Collection

Given the value of the artwork and the quality of the framing, I would prefer that the buyer discusses delivery or collection with me after purchase so that we can agree the safest and most appropriate solution.

Collection is very welcome, and various delivery options can also be agreed.

Thank you for looking, and please feel free to get in touch with any questions!!
