British Army officer. Lord Carver served as the Chief of the General Staff, the professional head of the British Army, and then as the Chief of the Defence Staff, the professional head of the British Armed Forces. He served with distinction during the Second World War and organised the administration of British forces deployed in response to the Mau Mau Uprising in Kenya and later in his career provided advice to the British government on the response to the early stages of The Troubles in Northern Ireland.

Lieutenant-Colonel Harry Reginald Antony 'Tony' Streather OBE (1926-2018)

British Army officer who served in the Gloucestershire Regiment, and mountaineer who first ascended the third-highest mountain in the world, Kangchenjunga, on the 1955 British Kangchenjunga expedition, and Tirich Mir. Streather was the first man ever to climb two peaks above 25,000 feet (7,600 m).

Former SAS soldier who saw action in Northern Ireland where he was awarded the Military Medal. Lane reach the summit of Everest during the 1976 expedition along with Brummie Stokes.
