Toyota Isis 2007, 179,000 KM (about 112,000 miles).
2.0 Automatic on the private plate N11 ESL which can stay on it. Bodywork has a few bumps and scratches. Mechanically A1.
Essentially a third car and I haven't done more than 3500 miles in the last two years. Its been standing around for a while so I thought i'd MOT it early and see what if anything needed doing prior to sale.
The existing MOT runs out the end of August but it has recently failed on some suspension components - see photo or gov.uk website.
There's no problem with the rear armrest and the rear fog light switch needs the words 'fog light' stuck on it - both items that haven't been issues on previous MOTs.
All 4 tyres were new in February 2024 but they're listed as advisories - maybe because it hasn't been driven much. They've listed minor oil and coolant leak but levels are fine and i've never topped either up.
Ive been offered scrap value but in my view it's simply too good to scrap. Track rod ends are £13 from GSF and £17 from unidoc. the other parts are available and reasonably cheap. all in all its not a lot of work but not something i could or would tackle.
It's a japanese import but parts are readily available and engine/gearbox is same as Avensis so filters etc are easy to get.
I had a tame mechanic who looked after the car but he's retired - which is why i chose a different MOT station. The existing MOT is valid until August so it's legal to drive as none of the issues reported are 'dangerous'.
Car is automatic with a touchscreen entertainment system which supports carplay/android via cable and is linked to the reversing camera - it has has also reversing sensors.
Aircon is nice and cool even in this weather. Heater is nice and warm when it needs to be.
7 seats and rear 2 fold into the floor to give a larger than usual load space. Nearside is pillarless so easy to get in and out. Both rear doors are manual sliding. one was electric but i disconnected it - the button is still there but it opens and closes manually.
It starts, drives and stops as you would expect a Toyota to do. its been reliable even though i haven't used it for extended periods. I did a road trip up north last year - 900 miles round trip - and it never missed a beat.
Although i haven't done many miles, i've had it serviced annually and new disks were fitted in august 2024. Transmission fluid was changed last August.
The speedo is in KM and records in KM but there is an MPH overlay so you know what speed you're doing if you don't work in km.
The front seats have covers but the underlying seats are clean and have no rips or tears. i have covers for the rear middle seats and a luggage area cover if interested.
electric windows all around with drivers door central locking. two key and of course V5 is present. Everything works and there are no warning lights or faults, it just needs some bits for the MOT.
I generally keep it on the road so every month is one month extra tax and mot and i dont have anywhere to SORN it so it isnt practical to keep it and i dont have the time and skills to repair it myself. It would be a shame to scrap it as in every other respect its a reliable family car, it just needs a little bit of work and to be driven more regularly. If you want a photo of anything specific let me know.
Ideally, needs to be gone by the end of June really or I incur another month's costs. I do have an off road space i could use for storage for about a week.
