This is a Fabulous brooch! I've been buying antiques & vintage items for over 50 years and this is the finest silver piece I've ever seen. The brooch is 2 3/4" tall & is hollow silver with a flat back & very repousse front. The back is stamped CH intertwined and Depose plus 2 other stamps that I can't identify. One is a tiny diamond shape with something in it I think (figure it's a French hallmark that you need a microscope to see as usual) and the other looks like maybe it's letters but I cannot make it out. This is NOT marked sterling but I'm sure it is. The figure is a nude native woman - probably African - who is sitting cross legged. It has applied pieces of silver. Small circles form a headband, decorations on the base she's sitting on and her belly button. Small wire bands are around her upper arms and her neck. Twisted wire bands go from under her breasts to her waist. She has tiny silver beads for her nipples on her breasts. She has beautiful ethnic features on her face,  a softly rounded belly, wonderful fingers & toes. She is magnificently detailed. The long pin on the back has a barrel hinge and a thick silver c clasp. This pin is what makes me date it to a victorian pin even though it's an amazing subject for a brooch of that time.  Please feel free to ask questions.
