Overview
Up for sale is an incredible, investment-grade example of the legendary Boss DM-2 Analog Delay.
The 6-digit serial number 132700 dates this unit straight to December 1981, making it a highly desirable, earliest-era Version 1 production. This version features the holy grail Panasonic MN3005 bucket-brigade (BBD) chip, renowned for its rich, warm, and distinctly musical analog repeats that modern digital pedals simply cannot mimic.
This unit was imported directly from Japan, where vintage gear is famously well looked after, and is now located in the UK ready for local dispatch with zero import taxes.
Condition and Details
• Cosmetic Condition: Very good cosmetic condition. There are light paint scratches only, which are shown honestly and clearly in the listing photos.
• Internal Integrity: 100% original, unmodified circuit. Features the original Panasonic MN3005 chip and the early ET5214-510 PCB layout. It features the authentic internal cardboard backing paper ensuring total historical authenticity.
• Hardware Traits: Features the classic 1981-era Black Label baseplate and original silver thumb screw setup. Opened strictly to document internal chips for these photos.
• Functionality: Fully tested and 100% working perfectly. The pots turn smoothly, and the pedal delivers everything from subtle slapback to lush ambient echoes and wild self-oscillation.

Operation and Power Notes
• The 'Check' Lamp: Please note that the LED illuminates only momentarily when pressing the footswitch down to toggle the effect on or off. This is a battery check light and functions exactly as designed, which is consistent with Boss pedals of this early era. It does not stay lit constantly while the effect is engaged.
• Power Requirement: This vintage pedal requires a Boss ACA 12V adapter (or a 9V battery) to operate correctly. Regular modern Boss PSA 9V adapters will not work and will cause the pedal to underpower, resulting in a dim LED and weak or non-existent effect tracking.
