Vintage Soviet Tabletop Weather Station BM-2 (БМ-2)
Up for sale is an authentic piece of Soviet era engineering — a vintage desktop weather station model BM-2 (БМ-2), made in the USSR. This 3-in-1 mechanical device functions as a barometer, thermometer, and hygrometer, housed in a classic mid-century yellowish plastic casing with a built-in metal wire stand.
Features & Markings:
3-in-1 Functionality: Measures atmospheric pressure (mmHg), temperature (°C), and relative humidity (%).
Authentic USSR Markings: Features the factory logo (ZMD), text "СДЕЛАНО В СССР" (Made in USSR),
and model designation "БМ-2" on the front face dial.
Back Panel Details: The reverse side shows the serial number "2719", the original Soviet price stamp "ЦЕНА 4-60" (Price 4 Rubles 60 Kopecks), and a quality control stamp "ОТК 25". It also includes calibration mechanisms accessible via the back slot.
Design: Compact desktop design with a sturdy metal wire legs/stand for easy placement on a desk, shelf, or mantel piece.
Condition Report:
Cosmetic Condition: Good vintage condition. The plastic body and face cover have aged into a nice retro yellow patina.
There are visible surface scratches, scuffs, and light marks on the clear plastic protective cover consistent with its age and use (clearly visible under light in image_15.png and image_16.png). No major cracks or broken parts.
Working Order: Mechanical parts appear intact. The needles and thermometer thermometer fluid are present.
Sold AS-IS as a collectible vintage item, accuracy of measurements has not been modernly calibrated.
