Up for Auction is this Autographed FR# 1909-C, $1.00 Federal Reserve Note, Series 1977.  The note is signed by former New Jersey Governor Thomas Kean.

As per Wikipedia:  Thomas Howard Kean Sr. was born April 21, 1935, an American Businessman, Academic Administrator and politician who served as the 48th Governor of New Jersey from 1982 to 1990 as a Republican. Kean is best known globally, however, for his 2002 appointment as Chairman of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States, widely known as the 9/11 Commission, which was responsible for investigating the causes of the September 11 attacks and providing recommendations to prevent future terrorist attacks. He was appointed to this post by U.S. President George W. Bush.  Upon the completion of his second term as Governor, he served as the President of Drew University for 15 years, until his retirement in 2005.

I obtained this note from a gentleman named Earl, a Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles & 76ers season ticket holder from South Jersey, along with other currency based items. The note is signed in a black medium point sharpie.  I grade this note as a near perfectly centered Choice Uncirculated  banknote, or slightly nicer.  Please look at the scans for yourself to determine the quality and condition before bidding.  This note would look great in a frame, on a desk or hanging on a wall display.

The Treasury signatures on this note are:

Treasurer of The United States:  Azie Taylor Morton

Secretary of The Treasury:  W. Michael Blumenthal

This note would make great addition to anyone collecting New Jersey Political Memorabilia or assembling a collection autographs of Governors of New Jersey.  Don’t let this piece of New Jersey History get away!
