Mountain Biking UK (MBUK) Magazine – October 1999 (Vol. 12, No. 12) - Hans Rey China Feature
Step back to the twilight of the 1990s with this incredibly preserved October 1999 edition of MBUK magazine!
This late-90s issue packs an amazing array of old-school trials, extreme freeride content, and retro bike tests: • "Mental Oriental / Oriental Aliens" – Trails legend Hans "No Way" Rey takes an surreal, trick-filled expedition across China in search of hidden mountain mysteries. • "Tricks & Stunts (Part 1): Flatland" – Cover star Fletcher Gillett introduces the foundational skills, balance techniques, and bike setups required to master flatland street maneuvers. • "Extra Verts: Devil's Drop" – Seb Rogers travels to Canada to document legendary pioneer Brett Tippie and the "Frider" crew dropping down terrifyingly steep dirt cliffs. • "Rock Steady" – The Tongue brothers tackle a notoriously steep, near-vertical stone slab directly under the Clifton Suspension Bridge. • Test Zone & Bike Tests – "New Bike or Dream Holiday?" 26 pages of buying advice including an extensive test of the Aeon Isis, KTM Team Edition, and the DeKerf Team SL, alongside a massive group test of year 2000 bikes from K2, Trek, and Gary Fisher. • Complete with its original double-sided centerfold pull-out action poster still securely attached at the staples!
Condition: Good vintage condition. The front and back covers have strong colors with only minor edge/shelf wear from storage. The interior pages are very clean, free of ink marks or clipping paths, and the centerfold poster remains firmly in place. A prime example for any vintage mountain bike collector's archive.
