Highly distinctive vintage 1970s Oriosa Swiss mechanical chronograph. A true standout piece for collectors of golden-era motorsport or avant-garde mid-century timepieces.

Detailed Condition Report

Case:

A substantial, characterful 1970s cushion/helmet case featuring a dramatic sunburst brushed finish on the top facade and high-polished flanks. The pushers and crown are robust and securely seated. Shows honest, minor surface age wear as pictured, but retains its incredibly sharp lines and presence.

Dial & Hands:

The original dial has developed an incredible, completely authentic stardust/tropical patina, turning a deep textured bronze star effect. This creates a stunning contrast against the two white sub-dials (bi-compax layout) and the vibrant, matalic dark blue original dial colour and fire-engine red central chronograph sweep hand. The dial is signed "Oriosa Swiss", "17 Jewels Incabloc", and "T Swiss Made T". The domed crystal frames the dial beautifully and is flawless.

Movement:

A high-grade 17-jewel Valjoux Cal. 7733 Swiss manual-wind mechanical chronograph movement. Everything works exactly as it should: the timekeeping is reliable, the top pusher crisply engages/pauses the sweep hand, and the bottom pusher snaps it cleanly back to the 12 o'clock position.

Strap:

Fitted with a heavy-duty, high-quality dark brown leather strap with contrast stitching and structural padding that perfectly anchors the heavy cushion case on the wrist.

Please note that this watch is over 50 years old and predates modern quartz movements. Therefore, +-3 represents 99.9% accuracy. You will get a watch that ticks, and the second hand 'sweeps' in a way that a modern watch never can. The watch will need winding every day!
