Britains Farm Bamfords BL58 Hay Baler & Bales Vintage 1960s #9563 Boxed

Lovely vintage 1960s Bamfords BL58 pickup baler by Britains as part of their farm series. 1:32 scale, diecast metal frame painted blue with yellow plastic body and front tines with rotating pickup tines & mare metal discs, 5 rubber hay bales, opening bale insertion chamber, blue wheels and treaded rubber tyres. The model is powered by the wheels & axle which drive a series of gears. The model comes with its yellow plastic tail gate extension. However, one of the rubber bales had come loose and was chemically welded to part of the baler (the chemicals in hard plastic and soft rubber obviously react with each other).

The model comes in its original box and packaging.

This model represents a Farm Implement which is essential to modern farming. Its purpose is to collect and bale the loose hay lying on the ground after cutting.

A rotating pick-up roller scoops up the loose hay and feeds it into a chamber where it is compressed into bales and bound with twine.

The bales are then ejected at regular intervals from the rear of the machine ready for collecting and stacking.

The Baler derives its power from the towing tractor by means of a propeller shaft.
