An original letter written by Sir Henry Walford Davis (1869-1941), an English Composer and Organist who was Master of the King's Music between 1934 and 1941. It is written on both sides of a single piece of paper. Please see details below:

The letter is dated May 9th, 1939 and is written on headed paper from The Athenaeum Club of Pall Mall, London. Mr Davis crossed through the name and contact details of of the Club, writing his home address and telephone number at the top.

It was written in relation to a performance of a piece of music, possibly to be performed by a regimental band: 'Dear Colleague (whoever you may be who kindly scores this march)'.

The paper has age related marks and foxing on the front and back. There is staining from paperclips (shown in the picture). There are small tears at the edges where it was folded.

Thank you for looking.
