Mount Tahoma Jasper


This listing is for 195 grams of Mount Tahoma Jasper, also known as Tahoma Agate from the slopes of Mount Rainer in Washington State.  It is a rare, highly collectible gemstone found in difficult-to-reach, high-elevation localities within the Snoqualmie-Baker National Forest. Tahoma Jasper is a seam material that is a mix of both jasper and agate, often with areas of translucency.  It is known for it's scenic patterns and muted colors in slate blue, green, brown, cream, gray, yellow, and white.  The patterns may look like landscapes, billowing clouds, orbs, or plumes, and may have inclusions of tubes, banding, or clear quartz.  It has a Mohs of 6.5-7 and polishes with a mirror finish.

This lot includes 15 preform size slabs of Tahoma Jasper.  These are all suitable size and thickness for cabochons. 13 are 7.5mm-15mm thick,  2 (the small pair) are 5mm and 6mm. (This is noted in the photos.) The thin, dark seams have a width of 0.5"-0.75".  The group photo was taken with a US quarter to illustrate the sizes.

We ship Monday through Saturday, with daily USPS pickup. All orders go out within one business day, and some orders ship the same day, depending on carrier pickup time.
