The
Behringer Super-X Pro CX2310 (and its updated V2 version) is
an industry-standard, analog active frequency crossover housed in a 1U rackmount chassis. It is used to split a full-range audio signal into distinct frequency bands before sending them to separate power amplifiers and speakers, ensuring optimal audio efficiency and protecting your drivers.
Core Modes of Operation
The unit handles frequency separation through two hardware configurations toggled via a rear-panel switch:
- Stereo 2-Way: Splits left and right input signals into Low (for woofers) and High (for tweeters) outputs.
- Mono 3-Way: Combines into a single mono channel split into Low, Mid, and High outputs.
- Independent Subwoofer Out: Available in both modes. It features an independent frequency knob (10 Hz to 215 Hz) and a dedicated volume pot, effectively giving you a stereo 2-way + mono sub or a mono 4-way setup.
Technical Specifications
- Filters: State-variable Linkwitz-Riley filters with a steep 24 dB/octave slope. This configuration guarantees an absolutely flat summed amplitude response with zero phase difference.
- Frequency Ranges: The low/high crossover points can be set from 44 Hz to 930 Hz (or scaled from 440 Hz to 9.3 kHz using the front-panel x10 multiplier switch).
- I/O Connections: Features servo-balanced, gold-plated XLR inputs and outputs.
- Protection: Switchable 25 Hz low-cut (subsonic) filter on each input to protect subwoofers and woofers from over-excursion damage.
