A beautiful antique silver plated cream jug and open sugar bowl set in a highly decorative Victorian style, featuring crisp repoussé floral decoration and elegant raised feet.

The bodies are richly decorated with deeply chased chrysanthemums and stylised summer blooms, displaying a remarkable level of detail and relief. The sharpness of the decoration is characteristic of quality late Victorian to Edwardian silver plate and strongly suggests a manufacturing date of approximately 1890–1910.

Both pieces stand on decorative shell-style feet and feature elegant scrolling handles, creating a wonderfully balanced and refined table service set.

The interiors should be noted, as they retain an attractive warm golden hue suggestive of the original gold-wash (gilded) finish often applied to quality tableware of the period. Collectors particularly appreciate gilded interiors as they helped protect the underlying metal from acidic foods and liquids.

Perfect for traditional afternoon tea service, period table settings, country house interiors, or display within a silver collection.
