Vintage 15 inch handmade Cherokee doll dressed in a lovely peach-colored outfit with ruffled details, apron, and green trim accents.
This folk art piece features an embroidered cloth face with stitched eyes, eyebrows, mouth and nose details, black yarn braided hair, and a two-strand black beaded necklace. It includes small green buttons on the bodice for nice period detail.
Comes with an original “Cherokee” tag pinned to the dress. Excellent condition for its age with good character and nice workmanship.
This doll is part of a small collection of mid-century Native American dolls acquired by the original owner during family visits to relatives who taught on reservations in New Mexico and South Dakota. Matching Navajo, Comanche, and Seminole dolls from the same collection were also listed.
A wonderful addition to a Native American folk art or vintage doll collection.
