Antique lidded trinket box with "Compliments of Rochester Hotel - Rochester NY" on the bottom. Patinaed copper with a repousse of roses on top and a pastoral scene around the bottom. One dent on inside rim of bottom piece. 1 1/5" tall with lid x 3" wide.
Built in 1907, the Hotel Rochester was a landmark at the intersection of Main and South Plymouth. It became part of the Manger chain in 1939, known as the Manger-Rochester Hotel. The hotel ceased operations in 1957 and was later demolished in 1999.
