Vehicle Details
1960 Chevrolet Apache K-10, short-bed stepside deluxe Big window
I am the Second owner since 1999. Full frame off restoration 2018-2024,
Original shortbed, stepside
Original Big Back /panaramic window
SM20 4 speed (low 1st) 283 V-8
In 1999 it was still in use as a NJ plow/ service station truck, when I purchased it it had 43,000 original miles on it, it was very rusty and needed a rebuild on the original 235/6cyl, drove as is 15 years then stored it, found a mint ‘60 cab with no rust, period correct 283, and put it back together, everything under the floor is new NOS or rebuilt.
Has original from factory Cab lights, Has 5 brand new 215/85/16 tires (tall skinny look like bias ply but are radials)
Orig truck had only 4 options
Panaramic Window
(Big back window)
HD alternator
Oil filter
Cab lights
Updates-
Power Steering
Power Disc Brakes (front & rear axle off a 1971 K-10 1/2 ton)
Shoulder seatbelts
71 truck bench seat
(2” more room to steering wheel)
Deluxe gauges cluster
As a result of Disc upgrade factory 15” steel Wheels will not clear 1971 calipers (you could do spacers or grind them) I went with 70’s (nub style) steel wheels (could use the 61-63 nub hub caps or I have orig 1960 15” clip wheels and caps, extra if wanted)
Have orig 283 air cleaner se photos
This truck drives like a 1980’s Chevy truck.
With the PS & PB.
Ok down side-
I broke my leg and had surgery 16 months ago, was house bound 4 months and just now getting back to normal, won’t be able to drive stick and this has sat now 16 months-
Carb is stuck and leaking needs Emergency brake reconnected
Needs speedometer cable
And other cables hooked up
Needs forced air vents installed
needs armrests
It has a fresh paint job, but this isn’t a show truck, it was built to be a driver, this truck was a DD and truly the paint to me was to be presentable, if you want to make this a show truck then you’ll need to cut and or respray.
Exterior is the original #057 Cardinal red and interior colors are the original factory correct 1960 Silver and satin Charcoal.
It is for sale locally (see last photo) and on FB Marketplace
