Northrop F-5A Freedom Fighter Diecast Model
HAF 343 Mira Asteri, #69138, Mikra AB, Greece, 1996
The Hellenic Air Force (HAF) 343 Mira operated the Northrop F-5A Freedom Fighter as part of Greece's air defense. Established in the 1960s, 343 Mira "Asteri" (Star) was based at Thessaloniki's Mikra Airport before later moving to Nea Anchialos Air Base. The squadron primarily conducted interception, air superiority, and training missions. The F-5A, known for its agility and reliability, served as a frontline fighter until it was gradually replaced by more advanced aircraft like the F-16. 343 Mira was eventually disbanded in 2001, marking the end of Greece's F-5A operations after decades of service.
The model had been kept always in the BOX and comes with its stand so as to present it either static or in fly position. The approximate dimensions of the model are (LxW) : 7.8in x 4.5in or 19.8cm x 11.5cm
It is completely unopened and NEVER displayed (not even for photographs).
