A truly beautiful, faultless Silver Topped Cut Glass Sugar Caster in the manner of the famous Art Deco Designer, Keith Murray.
It is very tactile, it sits in the hand so comfortably.
Made in Sheffield in 1939 by Cooper Brothers & Sons Ltd.
The glass weighs an impressive 497g, is 5.25'', 13cm tall and 3.25'', 8 cm in diameter at the base. It has a silver collar which is hallmarked with the old C B
& S mark; Lion Passant; W for 1939. It is also stamped 11
The Silver top has the same marks plus the Crown for Sheffield. It is 2.5'', 5.cm tall to the tip of it's lovely finial and weighs 33g.
There is not a chip on the glass and the silver is perfect too, please check the pictures to satisfy yourself.
To have gone through WWII and survived another 80 plus years in this condition makes it a very rare survivor, a magnificent addition to any Tea Table.
