For auction is a very nice pen or pencil tray made by Tiffany Studios, New York. The pattern is the HTF "Lineal Vine" and is commonly collected with the ever popular "Pine Needle" and "Grapevine" desk set pattern.  This pen tray has some size as it measures 8 3/8" wide by 3" deep and 1 7/16" tall.

This piece displays a rectangular shape. It has a very nice Tiffany green/brown organic patina. The acid etched pattern of filigree that resembles leaves along a vine has been a popular pattern among LC Tiffany collectors for years. This pen tray has two a toned green and white Favrile opalescent stained glass that is more of a open glass box. It is also decorated with a beaded border along the top edge and bottom above the feet. This decoration was considered the most fanciest and in todays market these are the most popular that are collected. There are 4 round small feet attached to the underside to give it added height.

This pen tray  is considered to be in very good to excellent condition as there are no cracks, or major nicks or chips.  There is a nick along the inside bottom side and some inclusions in the glass to the bottom and these are pictured. The Pen Tray is signed on the bottom long side in the middle with the micro "Tiffany Stvdios New York" impressed signature mark. There is the letter "v" in Studios. This along with the micro impressed signature denotes this as an early piece.

Tiffany started numbering his desk set pieces usually with a 3 digit number after 1902. Since this has a no digit number it was made very early say circa 1895-1898. I'm sure the buyer will be very pleased with their purchase. Truly a quality find in very good condition.

I want to apologize for slowing down my shipping time. Ebay forced me into managed payments in July 2020. I used to get my money in 24 hours. I now get it in 3-4 business days. I was told it would be better for me and my fees would go down. This has been the opposite as my fees have actually increased and now it takes longer for me to receive the payments. Because of this slowdown I will not ship until the payment has made it into my bank account. No store lets you out of the building with the merchandise unless it is paid for.

They are also now charging all sellers a commission of 12.70% on sales tax. Pay Pal used to charge 2.9% payment processing fee but Ebay has changed this to 12.70%. This is an increase of 9.80% on the sales tax portion. They are now making a profit on the sales tax and treating it as a sale which in my eyes is wrong!! They did the same on the shipping charges several years ago. They use to not charge anything and now they are charging 12.70% commission on shipping as well. This has raised the cost to ship items to you, the buyer and this is factored into my shipping charges.

If you feel what Ebay is doing is wrong or you don't agree them please contact Ebay and voice your opinion. Maybe if enough of you do this, they will change their policy.
