Core Series Summary

The overarching narrative centers heavily on the emotional bond between Clark Kent and his rapidly aged son, Jonathan Kent (Superboy), setting up the thematic passing of the mantle.

Part 1: "The Golden Age" (Issues #29–30)

  • The Conflict: A cosmic rift opens near Earth, unleashing a wave of violent, massive alien behemoths known as "The Breach". Superman and Superboy team up to fight them off, but during the battles, Clark's powers appear slightly diminished, and he is nearly killed

Part 2: "The One Who Fell" (Issues #31–32)

  • The Distress Beacon: Clark and Jon travel deep into the galaxy to respond to a distress signal sent by an old cosmic ally.

Backup Features: "Tales of Metropolis"

Every issue in this run includes a short backup story focused on Metropolis' supporting cast. It follows Jimmy Olsen as he builds a misfit crew to track down a sinister, elusive figure known as the Projectress.

About the listing:

Issues are NM

Each issue is individually bagged and boarded (silver age size), placed with cardboard backer, and secured in a Gemini comic mailer. This is then wrapped in a water/tear proof mailing envelope. I use painters tape to better secure packaging.

About me:

I'm a private collector (not a store); issues are purchased and carefully handled. Upon purchase, I place the issue in a bag/board, typically have read once, and then store in a short/long box. Over time I've decided these should be enjoyed by other readers or collectors. I am not a professional grader, but I have many years' experience in comic grading. I am confident I've been pretty accurate and the grade is fair.
